Pope Francis has called on world leaders meeting next week at the COP2 6 climate conference in Glasgow to provide “effective responses” to climate change and give “concrete hope” to future generations, in a message recorded alone for the BBC.

Speaking from the Vatican for BBC Radio 4’s Thought for the Day, the Pope spoke about the Covid-1 9 pandemic, climate change and economic difficulties, and insisted the world to respond to them with image and progressive decisions, so as not to “waste opportunities” that the current challenges present.
